As per the plan, Today Asus has unveiled its new Zenfone 5z flagship smartphone in India through a live launch event in Delhi. This handset was first appeared on February 2018 at MWC event, and it takes 4 months to release in Indian region. Talking about availability, Asus has set to roll out the Zenfone 5z from July 9 and its exclusive to flipkart retailer.
Coming to specs, Asus Zenfone 5z features 6.2-inch Super IPS+ display with FHD+ (2246 x 1080) resolution and 19:9 top notch design. Also the front and back portions of this device are covered by 2.5D curved corning gorilla glass. It runs on android 8.0 oreo os with custom ZenUI 5.0, later this device can be upgradable to Android P version. To tweak the performance they’ve used Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and 2.8 GHz octa core processor.
The Zenfone 5z will arrive in three variants 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. Additionally this device also support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 2TB).
This device sports dual main camera lens 12MP + 8MP which includes 4K video recording, Sony IMX363 sensor, Dual Pixel PDAF, AI camera modes, EIS / OIS sensor, 120 degree wide angle camera and more. Coming to front, it has 8MP selfie camera which support EIS video recording.
Other connectivity features are back-mounted fingerprint key, face unlock, WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 with Aptx-HD audio, Type-C USB, Hi-Res audio and more. It packed with 3300 mAh non-removable battery which compatible with AI intelligent charging and Asus BootMaster quick charging technology. This device will be available in two optional colors Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver.
Asus has also officially revealed the launch price of Zenfone 5z for Indian market. The price of 6GB/64GB variant is Rs. 29,999 and the 6GB/128GB model will cost Rs. 32,999. The high-end version 8GB + 256GB will launch for Rs. 36,999. The report claims this device may give tough competition to OnePlus 6 (6GB/64GB price starts from Rs. 34,999).
