Huawei P30 Pro was first unveiled on March 2019 and it went for sale in April 2019 in many regions. Till now this flagship device receives many positive reviews from users for its camera, because it’s the first device to feature 50x zoom and 5x optical zoom. This handset gets the highest camera score in DxOMark and still it’s in the top place in DxOMark table. At the time of debut, Huawei has showcased new dual-view camera mode feature in P30 Pro that will allow the users to shoot panoramic video on primary camera and zoom lens video at a time (just like split screen).
Sadly this special camera mode didn’t release with device, instead of they will release this feature as software update via OTA. As promised, Huawei has started to push this most expected feature as EMIU 188.8.131.52 update. This software update is now available for Chinese variants, but soon they will roll out it to global variants. Along with dual view mode, it also carries other features like security patch, camera and video related updates and bug fixes. You can check the changelog of this update below.
Huawei P30 Pro Changelog:
- New Dual-view camera mode to shoot panoramic and zoomed view video simultaneously
- New Charming portrait mode in camera adds more blurring effects in portrait shots
- Now it can generate highlight reels, will apply effects and create MVs automatically
- It brings the April 2019 month Google security patch
Apart from these the update doesn’t bring any new major features to this device. Usually the automatic OTA rollout will happen in stages and take some time to reach, so you want to stay calm and wait for this update. Note the firmware update is now available only for China units, for global version holders the firmware update may release in next month (i.e. May).
