Verizon wireless has started to upgrade its two years old Motorola Droid Maxx 2 smartphone to Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It’s the rebranded version of Moto X Play and launched as Droid Maxx 2 in 2015 for U.S market. The droid maxx 2 owners are speechless with this nougat update and no one has expected that they’ll release this software update. If you live in U.S and still own this verizon powered smartphone means then you’re eligible to receive this firmware update.
The nougat update for droid maxx 2 will come with new software version 26.26.14.lux_verizon_verizon.en.US. Wait it also carries the December 1 2017 security patch including Krack fix (wifi related issue) for this device. The carrier has posted the detailed changelog at the Droid Maxx 2 support page.
We already know about the Android 7.0 Nougat features, so we will give glance view of the some features – Multi window screen mode, apps quick switching, bundled notifications, individual app notification settings, editable Quick settings icons, new emojis, new quick access settings menu, data saver mode and doze mode.

Because of phase roll out the automatic OTA update will take some time to reach your device. But don’t worry you can manually check for the update from the Settings menu, to know whether the firmware is available or not.
