At launch it was pre-installed with android 7.1.1 nougat os, later the company has announced this device will be directly updated to 8.1.1. As promised the HMD Global is now rolling out this software update to Nokia 2 devices. Nokia was also opened the beta program for Nokia 2 users on last year June, still many users are enrolled their devices in this beta program.

Existing beta testers will be notified by the prompt to install the stable version of android oreo. The company has planned to bring the Android Go memory management technique to this device, but they didn’t which means it’s a regular oreo version. This latest oreo update may downgrade the performance of this device, so thick it twice before downloading the firmware.
