Finally HMD Global has started to push stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo update for Nokia 6 (first gen) smartphone. Recently they’ve upgraded the Nokia 6 (Gen 2) handset to android oreo version. This major software upgrade is now live for both Chinese (TA-1000) and global (TA-1003) variants. The new build number for chinese version is 00CN_5_210 and for global version 00WW_5_210.
The download size also differs for both variants – 1659 MB (1.6 GB) for global and 1587 MB (1.5 GB) for China. The update screenshot also reveals the release notes of both variants. If your compare the changelogs of both devices, the chinese version gets some additional features than the global version.
For global version the oreo update brings – android 8.0 version upgrade, January 1 2018 security patch, revamped Settings UI, improved background activity manager and power saving mode and updates the low light camera photos. But the chinese variant additionally brings new features like notification wakeup, long screen capture, pedometer card, record screen functions, Nokia cloud service and more.
As usual, the company has sending out this software update via OTA. Because of its big size, Nokia recommend users to download this update with Wifi network. Before upgrading backup your personal files for safety purpose. It’s a major firmware update so the installation will take some time to finish. Once installed you can verify the update from Settings > About phone.
