Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 unlocked units getting Android Pie in US

U.S carriers (like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon) owned Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 handsets are already running on Android Pie based Samsung One UI. For some technical issues the company delayed this software roll out for US unlocked units. But now the Samsung has concluded this waiting time and they were started to push this Android Pie update (along with Samsung One UI) to everyone in U.S. If you have bought any of these unlocked devices in U.S, then you’re eligible to receive this update.

For Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus the update brings new software version G950U1UEU5DSC1 and G955U1UEU5DSC1. While the firmware version for Galaxy Note 8 will be in N950U1UEU5DSC1. The update size for Note 8 weighs around 1.5GB, unfortunately the OTA size for S8 and S8+ device are not available but it will not be less than 1.5GB. The android security patch level of all these devices will be updated to March 2019.

US Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, Note 8 Pie Update

Samsung One UI (android pie based) for Galaxy S8 / S8+ and Note 8 brings revamped UI, dark mode, notification control tweaks,  one-hand mode, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, app actions, digital wellbeing and more preloaded features are there.

It looks like Samsung has decided to roll out this major software update through OTA in phases. If you own any of these unlocked devices, just switch on your WiFi to receive this automatic OTA update. Usually the stage roll out will take time to reach all device, suppose if you didn’t receive this update go to settings menu and tap ‘Download Manually’ option under system menu.
